Grooveslap's founder Charles Spencer previously ran celebrated dance music imprint, Loveslap! Recordings. Spencer has produced international hits with his remixes, including Zap Mama's "Crazy Life" released on Shelter/Luaka Bop and Goapele’s "Closer" issued on Loveslap!/BBE.

Endorsed by the late, great Godfather of House, Frankie Knuckles, who proclaimed, “big ups to Charles Spencer. He does amazing work,” Charles's extensive career features contributions as an artist, remixer, engineer, and keyboardist on several hundred releases.

Shifting his creative focus towards software, Charles has developed the Harmonic Animator. This innovative tool serves as a powerful combinatorial musical pattern generator, proving indispensable in the toolkit of any music producer.
